EUFAULA: SUNDAY - 7:00 PM On Sunday evening Eufaula Fire - EMS, Eufaula Police and other emergency responders in Eufaula - Barbour County recovered two bodies from Lake Eufaula.

Houston County Rescue Unit divers assisted in the recovery.

The two bodies recovered were reported missing on or about June 1 of this year. The recovery was made in the Old Creek Town Park. The two bodies were found in a car. They were not on the boat ramp but off a dirt road near the boat ramp where people park and fish.

Investigative information indicate there was possibly a third victim. The divers and search crew are still searching to see if a third person is deceased in the water.

The identities have not been released at this time.

As in all deaths the investigation begins as a murder case. The investigation is then worked backwards from a murder until the exact facts and circumstances are known. The reason you always begin a death investigation as a murder is you can not go back and recreate the scene. So law enforcement investigators conduct the investigation to make sure everything is documented correctly until all facts are gathered and in place.

Eufaula Police and Barbour County Coroner has not identified this as a murder case. But the investigation is being conducted as if a murder case until all of the facts are in place.

Eufaula Police Department, Barbour County Coroner Chip Chapman, ALEA - State Bureau of Investigation are in charge of the investigation.

The search for the third victim is still underway, but investigators are not 100% sure there is a third victim at this time.
