4:29 PM Structure Fire Dispatched On Webb Road

DOTHAN:     4:17 PM     Dothan 911 dispatched Dothan Police, Dothan Fire and Pilcher Ambulance to reports of a structure fire in the 1200 block of Webb Road.

Dothan Fire Engine Company 5 ( Eastside ), Dothan Fire Engine Company 1 ( Central ), Dothan Truck Company 1 ( Central ), Dothan Fire Battalion Chief Ash, another fire engine company, and Pilcher Ambulance responded.

Dothan Police arrived, 4:20 PM,  seconds prior to the first fire engine company and reported a lightning strike.

The first Dothan Fire Engine Company, Engine 5, arrived at the same time as Dothan Police, 4:20 PM, reporting a single story residential structure, nothing visible. All incoming units were instructed to go to Level 1 staging, which is be prepared but do not exectute, and Engine 5 was investigating.

Dothan Fire Battalion Chief Ash arrived and assumed command. Chief Ash reported a fire hydrant directly across the street from the structure and instructed Dothan Fire Engine Company 1 ( Central ) to stand by the fire hydrant ready to connect but await reports from Engine Company 5. Dothan Fire Engine Company 1 was in place at 4:21 PM.

Dothan Fire Truck 1 ( Central - Ladder Truck ) was on the scene at 4:22 PM and standing by for reports from Engine Company 5.

At 4:22 PM Engine Company 5 reported the fire was out, it was a fire in the laundry room. Engine 5 reported their Engine Company and Truck 1 could handle and all other units could return to service.

So at 4:22 PM Dothan Fire Engine Companies, Pilcher Ambulance and Dothan Police returned to service.

NOTE:    Pilcher Ambulance is not a government entity and receives zero government funding. The emergency response to the Pilcher Ambulance, emergency as dispatched, with two people on the ambulance, is totally at the cost of Pilcher Ambulance. It is good no one was injured, but this is a non billable call and all of the cost of equipment and response by Pilcher Ambulance is at the cost of Pilcher Ambulance Service.

4:39 PM   Engine 5 reports fire contained to dryer vent. Fire out on arrival. And Engine 5 and Truck 1 has returned to service.
