SLOCOMB:      The citizens on the west end of Geneva County do not know how good they have it.

You have excellent fire and EMS coverage, people who are trained and who are dedicated to the people they serve in emergency situations.

That statement includes Slocomb Fire and EMS, Malvern Volunteer Fire Department and Fadette Volunteer Fire cover the east end of Geneva County. All three departments have assembled a well trained staff who is willing to give of their time, talents and energies to save lives and property.

Slocomb Fire Department is operating a fire truck that is almost 34 years old. While this truck has served well it has reached it’s end of life stage for adequate use to fight structure fires.

ZACK’S FAMILY RESTAURANT IN SLOCOMB kicked off the fund raiser drive recently with a $ 500 check presented to members of Slocomb Fire - Rescue.

Those customers on Slocomb Water probably saw in your recent bill where you can check to donate $ 1.00 or more dollars ( $ 10.00  would be awesome ) to help Slocomb Fire to purchase another fire engine pumper. With your help this need could quickly become a reality.

As someone who listens to the radios frequently, you would be amazed at what Slocomb Fire - EMS, Malvern Volunteer Fire and Fadette Volunteer Fire do, how they work together, how they run a professional organization. The community should brag about your departments to other communities.

It is these men and women who place their lives on the line to protect and serve the community. They give a lot.

EMERGENCIES - they never make appointment and you do not know who will be next.
