HOUSTON COUNTY: 5:01 PM Houston County 911 dispatched Lovetown Volunteer Fire Department to Highway 53 at Halstead Store Road in reference to a wreck with no injuries.
The dispatched call was a semi truck verses power lines.
On arrival Lovetown Volunteer Fire Chief Jimmy Dixon had fireman close Cottonwood Road and Houston County Road 33 at Union Hill Church and Gene Terry Road and Cottonwood Road due to downed power lines.
Chief Dixon also reported a Haz Mat situation and requested Ashford Fire Department mutual aid to assist with Haz Mat situation. Ashford Fire Chief Jimmy Posey is responding to the scene.
A flat bed semi truck with a couple of tree equipment vehicles on it struck power lines. The power lines wrapped around the equipment and were drug down. One piece of logging equipment had power lines wrapped around it.
The haz mat is about 100 gallons of diesel is spilled on the ground.
Houston County Sheriff Department is also on the scene.
