GEORGETOWN GA: Today we spoke with Quitman County Sheriff Charles Davis in reference to some information we learned for shots fired and a person struck by a bullet in Georgetown.
Quitman County Sheriff, a long time law enforcement officer, took office as Quitman County Sheriff in January.
Recently the Sheriff Department executed a search warrant. Well those involved have been attempting to identify the informant who provided information to law enforcement.
A residential window got busted out. Some thought they knew one responsible and about five kids jumped at school.
The victim told his brother. Then some from Eufaula came to Quitman County and are alleged to have shot at a car or cars.
The Quitman County Sheriff Department later stopped a vehicle. While on the traffic stop a car came speeding up to the traffic stop. The apprach was so swift officers on the traffic stopped were forced to pull their weapons ordering the driver to stop and exit.
When the driver exited the vehicle he collapsed to the ground. Apparently he was in the car or car(s) shot at and was struck by a bullet.
The gunshot victim was transported to the hospital where he was treated and released.
Sheriff Charles Davis got is start in law enforcement in Quitman County. And now he is Sheriff. He is fair but not going to tolerate nonsense. So straighten up.
The FACEBOOK rumor was someone was killed. That is simply not true. Hate to say informatio on FACEBOOK is wrong, but it is.
