APALACHICOLA, Fla. (WDHN) — More information has been released detailing a fatal boating accident in Franklin County, Florida, on the Apalachicola River that claimed the life of an Ozark man, and sent another to the hospital in critical condition.


The crash claimed the life of Ozark man Gary Tibbetts, 64, and sent 61-year-old William Hardwick to a hospital, where he is being treated for his injuries.


According to Florida Fish and Wildlife, Hardwick was piloting his vessel into the East River Cut-Off from the East River, with Tibbits in the passenger seat towards the rear, when Hardwick attempted to pass another vessel and got caught in its wake.
