WIREGRASS:    On Tuesday Wiregrass Electric Cooperative is already standing up their emergency operations in preparation for the incoming hurricane.


Ladies and Gentleman - first I want to say the electrical copanies ARE FIRST RESPONDERS. They are in the group of law enforcement - fire - EMS. Because when power is on a structure that is on fire, power lines are on a car where people are trapped, until they arrive, the medical - fire and law enforcement can not do anything.


Also, would you hang in a bucket with 50 MPH winds attempting to restore power? No way would I. But they do so that you and I can flip a light switch and have lights, or adjust the thermostat and have air.


So in these days ahead, RSN solicits your prayers for all utility workers.


Wiregrass Electric Co-Op has a state-of-art emergency operations center in their home office. And staff often times knows you power is out before you do.
