COTTONWOOD - HOUSTON COUNTY:     Yesterday, Monday, at about 4:40 PM WDHN text me and asked about a interview with me. I told them we would do it today.

At 1:30 PM I was to meet the reporter in front of the Houston County Administrative Building where the Houston County Commission Office is located.

When we met I told him the interview will be conducted in the office of the Houston County Commission Chairman. The WDHN said he had already interviewed Houston County Commission Chairman Brandon Shoupe. My reply was oh well, what I have to say I do not have to hide and will say in front of the Chairman.

Relunctantly on the WDHN reporter's half, we traveled to the 6th floor office. Along with me was someone to video everything so it could be shown UNEDITED.

Shoupe was nice until he realized the interview was me in front of him. And Shoupe said the interview was not going to be conducted "in his office". I quickly reminded him it was not his office.

I told Shoupe that I was man enough to say what I had to say in front of him. Shoupe was not man enough to have that done.

TO THIS DAY no one on the Houston County Commission has asked me a question or asked to look at anything.

When this audit started I told the auditors they had to look at the last of 2017 through 2020 to understand 2021 - 2024. They refused to look.

When Cottonwood Rescue closed the last of 2017 and I took it over, Cottonwood Rescue had no money. The Houston County Commission gave like $ 20,000.00 per year in quarterly installments. That was it.

And the business entities Stokes was involved with loaned Cottonwood Rescue the money to operate. Not a gift, a interest free loan. Those records are being gathered to present with the total amount.

But the people who live in the 130 square miles of territory has had EMS since the last of 2017 to present, not because of the Houston County Commission, but because of Rickey Stokes and the men and women who helped provide the EMS coverage. But ambulances do not run for free.

The Houston County Commission and other commissioners passed a law that the Houston County Commission was not responsible for EMS coverage in the county. Therefore they have not cared about the people living in the county and emergency medical services.

Of the 130 square miles of EMS territory Cottonwood Rescue is assigned, 122 square miles is in the county.

MORE TO COME ... and Ken Curtis of WTVY is a liar.
