GORDON: 6:58 PM Houston County Sheriff 911 dispatched multiple volunteer fire departments to a structure fire.
The structure fire was South Springhill Road in Gordon. Responding to the structure fire, Gordon Volunteer Fire, Lucy Volunteer Fire, Pansey Volunteer Fire, Cottonwood Volunteer Fire, and Ashford Rescue. Ashford Rescue was also dispatched.
The first fire department to arrive, Lucy Volunteer Fire Chief Timothy Welch. On his arrival he reported the structure was already on the ground. Chief Welch cancelled Cottonwod Volunteer Fire which was responding with water tankers, and cancelled Ashford Rescue. Chief Welch also instructed other responding units to downgrade to non-emergency because the structure was on the ground.
Gordon Volunteer Fire Chief Justin McAllister requested Wiregrass Electric to repsond.
