KINSEY:   7:52 PM    Houston County Sheriff 911 dispatched a structure fire at 34 Nova Street in Kinsey, flames from the stove.

A group that belongs to Kinsey Volunteer Fire had a get together and was watching the Alabama - Auburn game. The time of the call was 5:51 PM. This was the last 5 minutes or so of the Alabama - Auburn game.

Along with Kinsey Volunteer Fire being dispatched Headland EMS and Webb Volunteer Fire all rolled to the scene along with Kinsey Police Department.

On the arrival of Kinsey Fire, the Fire Chief downgraded the call the fire was out and other departments were cancelled.  It was a stove fire the residents were able to put out.

Kinsey Volunteer Fire made sure no fire extensions and used the exhaust fan to clear smoke from the house. Headland EMS responded on to the scene and made sure everyone was OK.

This proves the dedication of the men and women who VOLUNTEER their time and energy to help the community in being VOLUNTEER PROFESSIONALS of the Kinsey Fire Department. In they left the big football game in the last 5 minutes to respond to save someone's property. The volunteer fireman all had ALABAMA football colors and one a Alabama tattoo. But when emergency happens that has priority.

NOTE:   The gathering, just for the record, was alcohol free for those who want to speculate and be a smart rear end ( I am getting better!!! ) .

Dothan-Houston County Emergency Management also responded to assist Kinsey when it was first dispatched as a structure fire.

Also met a young lady on the scene. She was home when the stove caught on fire and was very brave.
