WEDNESDAY EVENING:

Hello, Everyone! Have been waiting to hear from 2nd physician this evening, but it's getting late, and so many of you are wanting an update...

I spoke to Mike twice today, and he's sounds hoarse, of course, but really is in good spirits and relatively pain free. Keeping him still to keep heart rate steady.

Surgeon called midday to say he is doing well and they are happy with the numbers they're seeing. Tomorrow morning they plan to remove the balloon pump that is assisting his heart, so it will be a sweet thing if you will pray for NO CLOTS and for his heart to be able to take the load.

My understanding is that he will have an echocardiogram Friday to assess his heart's function, and that will provide what we need to know for next steps.

The doctor was encouraging, and in fact told me that he thinks Mike can recover from all of this depending on how his heart strengthens with new, proper blood flow from the bypass surgery.

I head for bed tonight so grateful for better news than we've heard in days, and I know our miracle is still in the pipeline- a recovered heart!!

We are blown away by the friends who are checking on us daily and how many of you are genuinely believing with us for Mike to be healed. No more "if we get thru today..."

The prayers and the outpouring of love and concern are more than I can fathom. Those of you meeting to pray and taking time to reach out will never know what an impact you are having on our lives. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
