ABBEVILLE - HENRY COUNTY:    5:29 PM     Abbeville Police Patrol went to make a traffic stop this afternoon.

When the Abbeville Police Patrolman activated ( turned on ) his blue lights for the traffic stop the driver got confused. The driver's feet got somewhat confused between the gas pedal and brake pedal. The driver hit the gas pedal.

The Abbeville Police Officer activated his siren and the driver continued to drive, faster and faster refusing to stop. Finally the driver stopped.

Well he was again confused. Hit mind, there was very little there to work with, told his feet, RUN !!! So he ran.

Henry County Sheriff Eric Blankenship has been married about one month. Several weeks ago Sheriff Blankenship left his bride and rolled to another manhunt. And he did it AGAIN!!! Members of Henry County Sheriff Department rolled. 

Before they got on the scene Sheriff Blankenship sent a picture to one of the Patrol Supervisors of the guy who fled. The supervisor asked Sheriff Blankenship how did it get that so fast and he said someone saw the person run and sent it to him.

Abbeville Police and Henry County Sheriff Department establish a perimeter. They discuss options.

ALABAMA DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS AND UNIVERSITY OF ALABAMA - NICK SABEN

The Alabama Department of Corrections has made two accomplishments. The Alabama Department of Corrections has made Alabama number one in the murder rate of the prisons in Alabama. That AIN'T GOOD! But the prisons are over crowded and guess that is the way the Alabama Legislature, Alabama Governor and Alabama Attorney General are handling the overcrowding. Just letting them kill each other!

The Alabama Department of Corrections has one of the best K-9 track teams. So Sheriff Blankenship, members of the Henry County Sheriff Department, and members of Abbeville Police Department request Ventress Prison K-9 team.

They respond.

VENTRESS PRISON K-9 START TRACKING 

The K-9 team, assisted by Henry County Sheriff Department and Abbeville Police Department, track the suspect(s) in the area of Highway 431 and Highway 10. And they track the suspects to an abandoned building. They take the suspect(s) into custody.

INVESTIGATION REVEALS WHY THE SUSPECT(S) HIT THE GAS PEDAL RATHER THAN THE BRAKES 

After apprehension and during the investigation it was determined the reason the suspect(s) hit the gas pedal rather than the brakes. The car was HOT!!!

It was not HOT in temperature but it was HOT in the fact that it was stolen. And stolen from the City of Dothan.

Now the suspect(s) know that Dothan Police Chief Will Benny has the Dothan Police Patrol Division is on top of their game. And they knew their time in Dothan was going to be short before Chief Benny's men and women were onto them.

These suspect(s) forgot that Henry County now has an aggressive Sheriff, Eric Blankenship, an Abbeville Police Chief, Marlos Walker, who is pretty sharp and a Headland Police Chief, Mark Jones that is pretty sharp. They though they could slip into Henry County and hide.

Well folks, you forget ... while Ozark Mayor Mark Blakenship might be dumb as dirt and not realize about Marlos Walker. This man came into Ozark and he took two murder investigations and solved them and gave the families closure. One of them the 33rd Circuit District Attorney, Kirke Adams and his assistant, helped get one of them closed but it was Marlos Walker who kicked the initial balls.

So with Marlos, Eric and Mark, Henry County has it going on.

HENRY COUNTY HAS TWO MOTELS - TOTALLY DIFFERENT 

Henry County has two motels. One, when registering, you have to pay to stay. The other one, when regsitering, you have to pay to leave. And that is the Henry County Jail.

HENRY COUNTY DISTRICT COURT JUDGE DEREK PETERSON 

Within 72 hours from late this afternoon, the suspect(s) will go before the Honorable Derek Peterson, Henry County District Court Judge. Judge Peterson will hold the 72 hours hearing and discuss bond.

The supect(s) have a negative on a reasonable bond. And that is a question has to be answered, is there a chance they might flee.

Well the driver who confused the has pedal for the brake, he has already answered that question. So a reasonable bond, well, don't look real good.

But their visit with Judge Peterson... well the thing about Judge Derek Peterson, ( not an option in this case ) could tell you that you are sentenced to die by lethal injection. And you would be saying ... THANK YOU JUDGE, I APPRECIATE IT!

CUFF, STUFFED AND AWAITING ROOM SERVICE  

The suspects are cuffed and stuffed and in the Henry County Jail. They will have room service when breakfast will be served on Monday morning.
