HOUSTON COUNTY:      It is 8:25 PM on Saturday night. And Houston County Sheriff Donald Valenza is on active duty in the field working with other law enforcement.

Gordon Police made a traffic stop. Advisories on the person stopped. And shortly after the unit called out on the traffic stop Sheriff Donald Valenza calls out with the Gordon Police Officer as his backup.

You do not just ”happen” to be in Gordon. It is normally a destination. And Sheriff Valenza has also been keeping check on the river as water flows south from Atlanta and checking the residents at Gordon and Columbia making sure of their safety.

That is, not “sending” someone to check on them… “personally” going and checking on the water levels and residents of both Gordon and Columbia. Since 1979 Sheriff Valenza has been through the several river flooding‘s and has first hand knowledge of how it rises.
