AVON: 7:59 PM Houston County 911 dispatched Ashford Volunteer Fire, Ashford Volunteer Rescue, Cowarts Volunteer Fire and Houston County Sheriff Deputies to a structure fire in Avon.
The fire was a storage building behind a residence on Sage Road off Christmas Road in Avon.
When Cowarts Volunteer Fire Engine arrived the storage structure was fully engulfed in flames. Immediately next to the structure on fire was a second storage unit that was getting very hot and had fire on the side of the building.
Ashford Volunteer Fire and Ashford Fire Command were in right after Cowarts Fire arrived. One structure was saved and the one completely engulfed on arrival was a total loss.
A residence who had a breathing issue was treated on the scene by Ashford Rescue.
A off duty Houston County Sheriff Deputy saw the fire and was on the scene immediately before the fire engines arrived.
No one was injured other than the homeowner breathing issue.
