BLAKELY GEORGIA:   7:37 PM SATURDAY NIGHT     At 7:37 PM CST last night via TEXT RICKEY 334-790-1729 we were notified there was a murder in Blakely Georgia.

A 23 year black male had been shot and killed.

UNCONFIRMED with law enforcement, the subject was shot at North Phillips 66.

There was a large group of people gathered at Early Memorial Hospital.

UNCONFIRMED with law enforcement the victim was shot multiple times. Some reports, again UNCONFIRMED with law enforcement, as many as 8 times. Those reports continue the shooting was over drugs.

After investigation Blakely Police is reported to have taken Antwain Thornton, age 32, into custody for the murder. The victim is 23 year old Escondarious Pinkney who is from Dothan Alabama.

Additional charges are expected to be filed later this week.

In addition to Blakely Police Department, Early County Sheriff Department, Georgia State Patrol, Dougherty County Sheriff's Office, Early Memorial Hospital and Early County Coroner's Office has assisted with the investigation into this murder.
