DOTHAN: 9:42 PM Dothan Police were on a call at East Lafayette Street. The Dothan Police Patrolman all of a sudden came over the radio EMERGENCY RADIO TRAFFIC ONLY with additional units to respond.
Did not hear the original call. Believe it was an harassment call Dothan Police were on. After arrival on the scene the subject became disorderly to law enforcement.
Multiple Dothan Police units responded. After more units arrived the subject(s) were taken into custody and the emergency radio traffic was downgraded.
Dothan Fire Department was requested to check the suspect.
All is under control.
YOU CAN FIGHT THE CRIME.... when dealing with law enforcement, you can fight the crime arrested for. But that fight is in the courtroom.
WHAT YOU CAN NOT FIGHT IS... you can not fight the arrest or ride to the jail. No reason to argue with the officer once the command is given you are under arrest. Might as well submit to the lawful authority of the officer no matter how wrong you think he or she is. Start making mental notes of what your legal counsel will need in order to fight the officer in court.
BUT NEVER FIGHT OR RESIST THE OFFICER.... because you will not win and it will result in additional charges. All arrests officers make are not good arrests. Some of the arrests, you have cases that can be won and you found not guilty. But fighting the officer does nothing to benefit you at all.
