WALTON COUNTY:A Walton County Sheriff’s Deputy doing traffic enforcement in the area of Highway 90 and State Highway 285 when he saw a black Chevrolet Monte Carlo run a stop sign.
When the deputy approached the driver’s side window, he immediately smelled marijuana. The driver, Ethan Cole Bobnock, 21, of Crestview seemed nervous and told the deputy there were no weapons or drugs inside the vehicle.
When a backup deputy arrived, Bobnock was asked to get out of the vehicle and told the deputy he had a gun in his waistband. The weapon was immediately taken from Bobnock and later entered into evidence.
After a search of the vehicle, numerous small baggies and a set of scales were found. Deputies also located bags with a white powdery substance that tested positive for cocaine.
Bobnock was charged with possession of cocaine with the intent to sell, possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
He was issued a $10,000 bond and is still incarcerated at the time of this release.
