WALTON COUNTY, FLA: A traffic stop for reckless driving on U.S. 331 S ends up in the arrest of a Freeport woman on drug charges thanks to Walton County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Kenny.

On Tuesday at around 5 pm, a deputy driving southbound on U.S 331 S watched a white Honda driving erratically and abruptly changing lanes.

A traffic stop was conducted, and when approaching the vehicle, the deputy noticed the window tint on the vehicle was extremely dark.

The passenger and car owner, Patricia Padget, 59, of Freeport, admitted to the deputy she knew the tint was unlawful. After measurement, the transparency was 12.7%, while the legal tint limit is 25%.

Walton County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Kenny was called to assist in the stop, where he gave a positive indication of drugs inside the vehicle.

A search revealed methamphetamine and cocaine along with three used syringes, a plastic cut straw, and a keychain cylinder with drug residue inside Padgett’s purse. Another used syringe was found in the rear map pocket of the driver’s seat.

Padget was charged with possession of cocaine, possession of methamphetamine, and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was issued a $2,500 bond and was released Wednesday.
