MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) - As of 5:00 PM... The Alabama Department of Public Health released its updated list of confirmed COVID-19 cases Wednesday, showing a surge of more than 100 new cases.

However, while ADPH’s official tally indicates cases climbed from 283 to 386 by day’s end, the individual county numbers add up to 415.

WSFA 12 News has reached out to ADPH for an explanation of the discrepancy.

ADPH is also refuting reports of a confirmed coronavirus-related death, tweeting that it is still investigating cases around the state.
