Bay County Motorcycle Pursuit, Crash, Medical Treatment, Arrest Pending

Bay County, Florida – On Friday, July 6, 2024 around 12:20 am, A Florida Highway Patrol Sergeant was conducting traffic enforcement on State Road 30 (Front Beach Road) in the area of County Road 30C (Clara Ave) when he observed a black Harley Davidson motorcycle operating in reckless manner. The FHP supervisor activated his emergency lights and sirens in order to conduct a traffic stop on the motorcycle. Upon activation of the lights and sirens, the driver of the motorcycle rapidly accelerated, actively fleeing eastbound on State Road 30. A short pursuit ensued, lasting just over .5 miles, when the motorcycle collided with two other vehicles. The driver of the motorcycle sustained serious injuries as a result of the incident and was transported to Ascension Sacred Heart Bay Hospital.
The driver of the motorcycle, 34-year-old Male currently of Pompano Beach, Florida, has a suspended Florida License, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire. He will also be possibly be facing additional charges of fleeing, reckless driving and speed. This pursuit and crash are still under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol. The Panama City Beach Police Department assisted with scene securement during the initial investigation.
