Body In Campbellton Florida Landfill Identified

JACKSON COUNTY FL:     On Saturday RSN reported that Jackson County Sheriff Donnie Edenfield and members of Jackson County Sheriff Department were on the scene of the landfill in Campbellton where a body was found.

Jackson County Sheriff Donnie Edenfield told us that at 12:38 PM on Saturday Jackson County Sheriff 911 received a call that a body had been found by the workers at the Waste Management landfill in Campbellton. Criminal Investigators and Sheriff Edenfield were on the scene and awaiting FDLE ( Florida Department of Law Enforcement ). The Medical Examiner was on the scene.

The deceased has been identified as 54 year old Jorge Diaz-Johnston.

The deceased is the brother to former Miami Mayor and Florida Democratic Party Chairman Manny Diaz. The deceased uncle is former Miami Hurricanes football coach Manny Diaz, Jr.

Jorge Diaz-Johnston was last seen on Monday, January 3. Five days later, Saturday January 8, Jorge Diaz-Johnston was reported missing in Tallahassee Florida.  

That same day Jorge Diaz-Johnston body was found in the landfill in Campbellton. 

According to sources the investigation has revealed the body came from Baker Landfill in Okaloosa County Florida. The waste is transferred from Okaloosa County to Jackson County Florida. The landfill accepts waste from Tallahassee to Pensacola, from Bay County Florida to Houston County Alabama.

Law Enforcement authorities have been very quiet so far which is required during a investigation of this sort. Law Enforcement authorities have been very quiet so far as to any details of the body or cause of death.
