Bonifay Fire Rescue Responed to Structure Fire on US 90 Just East of Bonifay

BONIFAY FAL: On Wednesday, May 29, around 2:25pm, Bonifay Fire Rescue was dispatched to a commercial structure fire on US-90 just east of Bonifay. BFD’s first arriving unit advised of an approximate 3,000 sq. ft. open storage building with all contents fully involved. It was known at that point the material burning was roofing and building construction materials. BFD responded with five apparatus. Chipley Fire Department responded with three apparatus. Gritney Fire Department and Pittman Fire Department with one apparatus each for a total twenty firefighters. Bonifay Police Department and Holmes County Sheriff’s Office assisted with crowd and traffic control. Firefighter rehabilitation sector was established by Holmes County EMS. Once the fire was under control with handlines, City of Bonifay Public Works responded with heavy equipment to assist with firefighting operations. Ladder 1 elevated master stream was deployed to complete extinguishment.
