Call For Service Ends in Arrest

HOLMES COUNTY:On 5/31/24, deputies responded to Hathaway Mill Road regarding a report of a green Ford pickup driven by Charles Looney, who was allegedly shooting out of the vehicle, possibly at another vehicle.
Deputies quickly located the suspect vehicle at a residence on Hickory Road. The victim was found at a residence in Bonifay and stated that Looney, traveling in front of her, fired several shots out of the window of his vehicle while driving. She also reported that Looney had grabbed her around the neck, causing bruises.
Looney admitted to shooting from the vehicle and stated the gun was in the house belonging to Caleb Williams. A search warrant was obtained for the residence, where several firearms and a liquid that field-tested positive for methamphetamine were found.
Looney was arrested and charged with discharging a firearm from a vehicle, trafficking in methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a short-barrel shotgun.
