CAR SEARCH TURNS UP METH PACKAGED FOR SALE AND COCAINE

Two people were arrested on drug and weapons charges this morning after a search of their vehicle turned up loaded weapons, methamphetamine, cocaine, and marijuana. Deputies made contact with Fort Walton Beach residents 31-year old Nicole McAndrew and 25-year old Vinny Melo shortly before one a.m. this morning at a convenience store on Beal Parkway.
A probable cause search turned up two loaded firearms in the vehicle’s center console, an electronic scale, drug paraphernalia, marijuana, and ten individually packaged plastic bags with methamphetamine.
A brown backpack was also found containing two small plastic bags with meth and one with cocaine, as well as a shotgun in the trunk. Melo is charged with use of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, possession of cocaine, and possession of paraphernalia.
McAndrew’s charges include possession of methamphetamine, possession of cocaine, use of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of marijuana, and possession of paraphernalia.
