WASHINGTON COUNTY, FL: A Chipley man was arrested on several felony charges after deputies responded to a disturbance call.

Just before 5 p.m., July 1st, Washington County Sheriff’s Office received a call requesting assistance after an argument developed into a physical disturbance while traveling back to the residence on Pinewood Dr. The victim stated once arriving back at the residence she exited the vehicle and called a family member about the situation. The subject, 26-year-old, Justin Cole Barron, continued making threats to harm her and left the residence in a red Ford F-150.

WCSO arrived on scene and made contact with the victim who had visible signs of an altercation. EMS transported the victim to the hospital for evaluation.

Barron, who was known to law enforcement had made statements that he would be armed and shoot the next police officer who attempted to arrest him for his outstanding warrants out of Bay County.  A short time later, WCSO deputies attempted a traffic stop of the Ford F-150, but it continued traveling to Pinewood Dr. before coming to a stop. Barron was commanded to exit the vehicle and was arrested without further incident.

A subsequent search of the vehicle resulted in deputies locating a glass smoking pipe and a small plastic bag that had been torn into two pieces. The crystalized substance located in the bag field tested positive for methamphetamine. Barron admitted the items located in the vehicle were his and that he had ingested approximately 4-5 grams of meth while he was failing to stop. EMS was contacted and Barron was taken to the hospital for further evaluation.

Once released from the hospital, Barron was booked into the Washington County Jail on charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, aggravated battery, driving while license suspended or revoked, resisting officer; flee and elude, and tampering with or attempting to destroy evidence. Barron is also being held on the Bay County warrants of domestic battery by strangulation and battery by convicted felon.
