Chipley Man Pursued on Warrants and Addition Charges after Fleeing Crashing Motorcycle

HOLMAS COUNTY:On September 7, 2023, an investigator with the Holmes County Sheriff’s Office was nearly involved in a vehicle crash when a yellow motorcycle ran a stop sign and pulled into his lane in Bonifay.
The vehicle, bearing no tag and matching the description of a motorcycle that had fled from Washington County Sheriff’s Office and Graceville Police department, failed to stop when the investigator activated his lights and sirens.
A pursuit ensued, traveling west on Hwy 90 then north on Hwy 179A. The driver ran several other vehicles off the road and reached speeds in excess of 110 mph before running off the road and hitting a mailbox. The driver was thrown from the motorcycle and landed in a field. He was assessed by EMS and transported to the hospital for treatment.
The suspect was identified as Michael McNamara of Chipley, who had active warrants out of Washington County for aggravated battery and kidnapping. McNamara also had warrants out of Holmes County for dealing I. Stolen property and grand theft. He is now also charged with reckless driving, fleeing and attempting to elude, driving while license suspended or revoked, and a number of additional traffic citations.
