DOTHAN: This evening area churches from multiple denominations came together at Ridgecrest Baptist Church for a Concerned Citizens Prayer Rally. The event was going to be held outside at the Dothan Civic Center but the rain forced the prayer rally to Ridgecrest.
The church worship center was packed with people in attendance for the prayer rally.
Today’s featured speakers were Charles Lewis and Colonel John Eidsmoe.
Today’s service was not a service to "bash" the different sides of the issue. Today’s rally centered on the Biblical Passage from Genesis 2: 24 "That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh". That as Christians, COME...STAND...PRAY...ON GOD’S WORD.
That as Christians, we are commanded to LOVE ONE ANOTHER. However, this afternoon’s rally was focused the Bible is clear, marriage is between a man and a woman.
Colonel Eidsmoe, a legal scholar, spoke the United States Federal Court has jurisdiction, not the lower Federal Court. The federal court ruling far over reach their authority over people.
As to the legal issues, one can get lost real easy in attempting to explain the tangled web. Long story short, the federal courts are out of control.
When the service ended, a peaceful protest outside. Lined along the street were persons opposing the view of those in attendance in the rally.
Today’s service, was a prayer for America to return to their values. The values which America was built. It was not a bash people service.
