Convicted Felon Arrested for Warrants, Found to Have a Gun

JACKSON COUNTY: On Wednesday, Sept. 6, around 1:45 p.m., deputies were searching for Wayne Patrick Austin, Jr. for an outstanding warrant for burglary after he burglarized a church. He was located in a residential area in Marianna. When he was arrested, deputies located a pistol in his pocket and removed it. The magazine was found to be loaded with ten rounds of ammunition.
When deputies checked Austin’s criminal history, it was discovered that he had a prior felony conviction for Aggravated Assault, as well as numerous other felony convictions. Austin had an outstanding warrant from Jackson County for Burglary, as well as a warrant out of Seminole County, Ga for Violation of Probation for Burglary.
Austin was arrested on his warrants and is additionally being charged with Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon and Fugitive from Justice.
