COTTONWOOD: 10:40 AM This morning Cottonwood Elementary School held Field Day. This was re-scheduled from Monday because of the weather.
The students and teachers have worked very hard over the last several weeks in preparation for testing. The ACAP test the students took and everyone worked hard to prepare for the testing.
Today grades K-6 had a wonderful funfilled day in field day. Some of the games were inflattables for the Kindegarten stodents. Other games such as Hoppers, Cornhole, Jump Ropes, Tug-A-War, Movie in the classroom, Relay Races, Playground, Kickball, Baseball, Volleyball, and Football Toss.
The Administrative Staff, teachers, Senior Class and some of the school clubs of older stdents were on the field and playing with the K-6th grades in order to make it a funfilled day.
The Elementary School Principal Mr. Strange, Assistant Principal Ms. Andrews along with others were operating the Concession Stand.
The school ordered 25 pizzas to feed the students.
Cottonwood Elementary and High School does a great job with the teaching the students. Our grandson, Brantley, attends Cottonwood Elementary where he moves from the 5th grade to the 6th grade next year.
THANK YOU to each and every administrator, teacher, older students and all who made 2024 Field Day and School year a success.
Since Monday was cancelled Brantley's mom could not go to field day. So, Paw Paw had the opportunity of joining Brantley. All had a great time. And thanks to the Seniors and clubs that participated. They took time with the younger kids and made sure they had a great time. Parents can be proud of their boys and girls taht worked with the younger students. JOB WELL DONE.
