HOUSTON - HENRY - DALE - COFFEE - GENEVA COUNTY:    Today in COURT WATCH,

HOUSTON COUNTY:     Criminal Jury trials with some Civil Jury Trials in the mix. Some 370 cases on the court dockets of Houston County District Court Judge Benjamin Lewis, 20th Judicial Circuit Court Judges Butch Binford, John John Steensland, Kevin Moulton, Larry Anderson, and Todd Derrick. Judge Lori Collier Ingram has Juvenile Cases which the dockets are not public record. Most of the cases heard by Judge Ingram are ones where they are under age and court dockets are not public. Judge Binford also handles some of those Juvenile cases.

In addition to the District Criminal and Traffic cases scheduled before Judge Lewis he will begin with Arraignments. These cases are normally held each morning at 8:30 AM via TV from the Houston County Jail to the courthouse. This is a "information" type court proceeding. The Judge will advise each person arrested and not made bond as of yet, what they are arrested for, bond amounts, right to remain silent ( normally to late at this point - they have either talked or asked for legal counsel ), right to an attorney and if they can not afford one, should they qualify, one would be appointed for them.

The Circuit Court Clerk is Carla Woodall.

HENRY COUNTY:    Henry County District Court Judge Derek Peterson has 16 District Court cases scheduled before him this morning.

Judge Peterson will also hold Arraignments for any person who is in custody and not made bond within 72 hours of arrest.

The Circuit Court Clerk is Shirlene Vickers.

DALE COUNTY:    Criminal Jury Trials this morning in Dale County. The 33rd Judicial Circuit Court has 107 cases scheduled on the docket. Dale County has two District Court Judges and Two Circuit Court Judges. District Court Judge Stuart Smith has Domestic Relations cases and Child Support cases. District Court Judge Stan Garner has Arraignment cases and juvenile matters of which dockets can not be published for. 33rd Judicial Circuit Court Judges Kimberly Clark and Bill Filmore will hold criminal jury trials.

The Circuit Court Clerk is Deloris Woodham.

GENEVA COUNTY:    Geneva County is part of the 33rd Judicial Circuit which encompasses both Dale and Geneva County. One District Court Judge, Stephen Smith. District Court Judge Stephen Smith holds Arraignments and also handles juvenile cases of which dockets are not public records.  33rd Judicial Circuit Court Judges are scheduled in Dale County for criminal jury trials.

The Circuit Court Clerk is Gale Laye.

COFFEE COUNTY - ENTERPRISE DIVISION:  Coffee County is the 12th Judicial Circuit which is made up of Coffee County and Pike County. Coffee County is a split county with courthouses in Elba and Enterprise. In the Enterprise Division of Coffee County the 12th Judicial Circuit Court Judges have 49 cases scheduled today. The Circuit Court Judges are Henry ( Sonny ) Reagan, Jeff Kelley, and Shannon Clark.

The Circuit Court Clerk is Amy Reeves.

DOTHAN MUNICIPAL COURT:    The Dothan Municipal Court Judge is Rose Evans Gordon. At Dothan Municipal Court they only handle misdemeanor cases that were made by Dothan Police Officers. Normally on Monday is Arraignment, plea of guilt and case disposed of today, Plea of Not Guilty your case is continued for a trial date. You see a Court Referral Officer or apply for Pre-Trial Diversion.  Do not have a court docket available to me and the court system is not on line. Should be, promised since 2002 they would, but in 2019 it is not.
