HOUSTON, HENRY, DALE, COFFEE-ENTERPRISE,COFFEE-ELBA-PIKE-DOTHAN MUNICIPAL:     What is taking place in the court system in the wiregrass today?

HOUSTON COUNTY:   Criminal and Civil Jury trials continue today and will all week this week. Each Judge places the number of cases on the docket differently. Some are all set on Monday for Criminal and Civil Jury trials and they weed the cases from there. Some have issues to be continued, some enter guilty pleas, some are going to trial by a jury of 12. In addition to the case numbers from Monday, Houston County District and Circuit Court have 152 cases set on the docket. Houston County District Court Judge Lori Collier Ingram has Child Support and Domestic Relations cases. Houston County District Court Judge Benjamin Lewis has District Criminal cases in addition to the Arraignments of people in jail.

20th Judicial Circuit Court Judges Todd Derrick, Butch Binford, Kevin Moulton, John John Steensland, and Larry Anderson have some additional cases set and are continuing from their Monday dockets for Criminal and Civil jury trials.

The District Attorney for the 20th Judicial Circuit is Pat Jones. Jones serves Houston and Henry County.

The Houston County Circuit Court Clerk is Carla Woodall. The Sheriff is Donald Valenza.

HENRY COUNTY:    Henry County District Court Judge Derek Peterson has District Criminal and Traffic Court today in Henry County Courthouse located in the county seat of Henry County - Abbeville. Judge Peterson has 367 cases set on his docket.

Houston and Henry County are the same Judicial Circuit which is the 20th Judicial Circuit. The only District Court Judge is Derek Peterson. The Circuit Court Judges are the same in both Houston and Henry County.

The District Attorney for the 20th Judicial Circuit is Pat Jones. Jones serves Houston and Henry County.

The Henry County Circuit Court Clerk is Shirlene Vickers. The Sheriff is Will Maddox.

DALE COUNTY:   Dale and Geneva County make up the 33rd Judicial Circuit. The 33rd Judicial Circuit has two Circuit Judges, William ( Bill ) Filmore and Kimberly Clark.

The District Attorney that serves both Dale and Geneva County is Kirke Adams ( he ought to be the Attorney General of Alabama ).

Today, Barbour - Bullock County Circuit Court Judge Burt Smithhart was special appointed in a Sexual Abuse 1st and Enticing A Child case. On September 25, 2019 Judge Smithhart will hand down the sentence on Chad Gulledge. Originally arrested on November 30, 2018 by Dale County Sheriff Chief Deputy Mason Bynum for two counts of Sexual Abuse in the first degree and Enticing a Child, the jury of 12 convicted Gulledge of one county of Sexual Abuse of child under 12 and Enticing a Child, dismissing the second count of Sexual Abuse.

Dale County has two District Court Judges, Stuart Smith and Stan Garner. The District Court Judges will handle Arraignments, Child Support, and Juvenile matters.

Dale County has Criminal and Civil Jury trials this week. They will continue on the Monday docket.

The Circuit Court Clerk for Dale County is Deloris Woodham. The Sheriff is Wally Olson.

GENEVA COUNTY:   Geneva and Dale County are the 33rd Judicial Circuit. The Circuit Judges are the same in both Dale and Geneva County, being Judge William ( Bill ) Filmore and Kimberly Clark.

The District Attorney is the same in Dale and Geneva County which is Kirke Adams.

Geneva County District Court Judge is Stephen Smith. He has juvenile and Arraignment cases today.

The Circuit Court Clerk is Gail Laye. The Sheriff is Tony Helms.

COFFEE COUNTY - ENTERPRISE:   Coffee County has split courthouses, with one in Enterprise and one in Elba. Coffee County and Pike County make up the 12th Judicial Circuit. 

The Circuit Court Judges are Henry ( Sonny ) Reagan, Jeff Kelley, and Shannon Clark. The District Attorney that serves the 12th Judicial Circuit is Tom Anderson. Anderson serves both courthouses in Coffee County and Pike County.

The Enterprise Division of Coffee County has 7 cases set on the docket in Circuit Criminal and Circuit Civil.

The District Court Judge is new and do not have his name.

COFFEE COUNTY - ELBA:  No cases set.

The Circuit Clerk for Coffee County, both Enterprise and Elba Division in Amy Reeves. The Sheriff is Dave Sutton.

PIKE COUNTY:    Pike County is in the 12th Judicial Circuit. The Circuit Court Judges in Coffee and Pike County, Reagan, Kelley and Clark serve both counties. The prosecutor, Tom Anderson serves both Counties.

The District Court Judge for Pike County is Steven Curtis.

12th Judicial Circuit Court Judge Henry ( Sonny ) Reagan is having hearings in Circuit Criminal Court in Pike County in the county seat of Pike County, Troy. The hearings vary on different issues. There are 72 cases set in Circuit and District Court today in Pike County.

The Circuit Court Clerk of Pike County is Jamie Scarbrough. The Sheriff is Russell Thomas.

DOTHAN MUNICIPAL COURT:  The Judge for Dothan Municipal Court is Rose Evans Gordon. Do not have a docket for Dothan Municipal Court. 

The Chief Magistrate for Dothan Municipal Court is Tonya Minnifield. 

The Dothan Municipal Court handles only misdemeanor cases made by Dothan Police Department. The courtroom is located at 210 North Saint Andrews in the Dothan Police Headquarters.

The Dothan Municipal Court Magistrates Office is located at the corner of North Oates and East Adams Street.

The Dothan Police Chief is Steve Parrish.
