Dale County Shooting Suspect - Who Is He

DALE COUNTY: The suspect is identified by sources, not by law enforcement.

The sources have identified him as Jimmy Lee Dykes.

According to the Alabama Court System, Dykes was arrested on December 22, 2012 on a criminal offense of menacing. Dykes was scheduled to appear before Dale County District Court Judge Stan Garner on the Menacing offense.

According to the Code of Alabama the crime of menacing is defined as: Section 13A-6-23

Menacing.

(a) A person commits the crime of menacing if, by physical action, he intentionally places or attempts to place another person in fear of imminent serious physical injury.

(b) Menacing is a Class B misdemeanor.

(Acts 1977, No. 607, p. 812, §2110.)

END OF DEFINTIION

Dykes was arrested on December 22, 2012. He was released from the Dale County Jail on December 26, 2012 under a $ 500.00 bond. And he was to appear today for court.

UNCONFIRMED sources say the offense stemmed from an incident between Dykes and a neighbor.

A neighbor that spoke to the media told us that he had helped Dykes build the bunker which is underground. He is a former military veteran.

At this time we have no sources which has linked Dykes with the child that was kidnapped.
