Death Investigation (Suspected Foul Play)

On 3-22-2020 at Approximately 6:00 p.m. Ozark-Dale County E911 received a call in reference to a firearm assault that took place in the 100 block of Washington Avenue.
Once on scene, law enforcement officials located a white male victim who has sustained a gunshot wound. Medical Personnel determined that the Victim was deceased on scene. Law enforcement were able to locate some physical evidence and key witnesses that would help determine exactly what happened during this event. The identity of a suspect was given and an area BOLO was broadcasted for the suspect. He is wanted for questioning at the time in relation to this event.
Investigators worked throughout the night processing the crime scene and conducting interviews to obtain more information about the crime.
The victim’s body will be sent to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences for further determination for the manner of death.

The Ozark Police Department along with the Dale County Sheriff Office are investigating this case.
