HOLMES COUNTY, FLORIDA: On November 7, deputies and investigators with the Holmes County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on Highway 81 near Ponce De Leon.
Contact was made with the driver who was not wearing a seatbelt and the passenger, Brittany Brase of DeFuniak Springs.
During the stop, deputies noticed Brase appeared to be under the influence of a controlled substance and was not able to follow simple instructions.
The driver of the vehicle consented to a search of his person, which produced a small amount of marijuana. He informed deputies that he did not have a medical marijuana card.
A probable cause search of his vehicle was then conducted, and it resulted in the discovery of a small baggie of methamphetamine in the passenger floorboard where Brase had been sitting.
Brase was taken into custody and transported to the Holmes County Jail; she is charged with possession of methamphetamine.
The driver was released from the scene.
