Dollar Store Robbery Suspect Arrested

Donald Valenza, Sheriff Houston County, AL is putting this press release out in reference to the reported Armed Robbery call at the Dollar General Store located at 30 Eddins Road, Cowarts, AL that occurred February 14, 2021 at or about 9:54 p.m. Houston County Sheriff’s Office Investigation Unit is working a joint investigation with Dale County Sheriff’s Office and assisted by Dothan Police Department and Headland Police Department.
The investigation led to a search warrant being executed and evidence being recovered at a residence in Midland City. The evidence that was recovered indicated Harris was involved with the Dollar General Robbery. Investigators with Houston County Sheriff’s Office have made an arrest in the Dollar General case at or about 3:00 a.m. on February 18, 2021.

? Bond: $250,000.00
Harris entered the Dollar General Store on February 14 in an attempt to rob the clerks. Harris observed an employee run toward the back of the store and shot four rounds toward the employee as he ran for safety. Harris is being held in the Houston County Jail with holds for unrelated charges in Dale County.
Harris may be facing charges in other jurisdictions as well. The case is still under investigation by Houston County Sheriff’s Office. Sheriff Valenza would like to thank the agencies that assisted in resolving this case and the information and cooperation from the citizens who gave any information involved with this case.
