DOTHAN:    This morning Dothan High School graduation was held at Celebrity Station on Highway 231 South.

Celebrity Station is located on the grounds of Center Stage. A magnificent facility located on Highway 231 South.

Dothan High School had 500 graduates this morning. The graduation ceremony lasted about one and half hours. It went rather fast. Compliments to the Dothan High School and Dothan City Schools Administration for the organization of the ceremony.

The students that spoke during the graduation ceremony spoke about the achievements of the students and faculty of navigating the obstacles thrown their way since COVID. The theme each student spoke was the consolidation of Northview High School and Dothan High School. While the students spoke of apprehension at the beginning, but the students said in the end it allowed them so many more opportunities. Some included meeting people they would have never met with different schools, being a part of setting new traditions and standards.

I felt it was interesting to hear their speeches and feelings on the consolidation. All were positive comments.

The weather was nice. It was overcast which helped on the heat. Some students who spoke were complimentary of the School Administration for being creative in a graduation ceremony and memory that included everyone.

CONGRATULATIONS to Dothan High School Class of 2021. Your enthusiasm and excitement was noticed today. The world will offer you challenges and obstacles as you move forward in life. Always remember to look up, remember endeavors you pick which you might fail at, it is not failure. It is a learning experience. Back up ... examine what you did right and wrong, learn from up and never give up.

What path you have for your life might not be where you end up. My one goal and ambition in life was to be Sheriff of Houston County. Never did I imagine myself in the news business and bail bonding business. But that is where I ended up in life.

That is said only to point out, you never know where life will steer you. So be ready to accept the challenge.
