Dothan Woman Charged with Torture, Willful Abuse, etc., of Child Under 18 years

On September 20, 2013 the Dothan Police Department began an investigation after receiving a complaint of possible abuse involving a five year old juvenile.
Investigators say the Dothan Police Department was notified by the child’s school after personnel located bruises on the child’s body. Upon further investigation into the complaint, Investigators have determined the marks were the result of the mother, Shakeerah Faye Jackson, striking the child.
Shakeerah Faye Jackson has been arrested and charged with Torture, willful abuse, etc., of child under 18 years of age by responsible person. Due to the nature of the complaint, no further information will be released.
- Shakeerah Faye Jackson, black female, 24 years of age, of Honeysuckle Road was arrested and charged with Torture, willful abuse, etc., of child under 18 years of age by responsible person. Bond was set at $60,000. All persons arrested are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
