A Navarre man already on felony probation who was pulled over Thursday night for an expired tag
tried to get his passenger to switch seats during the traffic stop, but now faces four felony and four
misdemeanor charges.
35-year old Kevin McLaren was driving although his license had been suspended multiple times in the
past. He initially did not pull over for a deputy attempting a traffic stop on Highway 20 near the
Highway 293 overpass around 11 p.m. yesterday.
McLaren eventually stopped on Cat Mar Road near Niceville and had to be removed from the Ford
Mustang he was driving.
An OCSO K9 alerted on McLaren’s car and a search revealed methamphetamine, fentanyl, and more.
He’s charged with fleeing and eluding from lights and siren, driving with a suspended license third or
more offense, failure to register a motor vehicle, three counts of possession of a controlled substance
(methamphetamine, fentanyl, Suboxone), unlawful possession of someone else’s identification card, lack
of insurance, possession of paraphernalia, and violation of felony probation.
