DUI, Cocaine Possession Lead to Two Arrests

HOLMES COUNTY :On March 11th, deputies with the Holmes County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of Hwy 79 and Hwy 160. Contact was made with the driver, Macey Lane (pictured), and passenger Susano Ricardo (photo unavailable).


During the stop, deputies detected the odor of alcohol coming from the vehicle and observed an open alcoholic beverage in the back floor board behind the driver’s seat. Ms. Lane admitted to drinking the beverage while driving, in addition to several more prior.



K9 Lasso then conducted a free air sniff of the vehicle and gave a positive alert to the presence of illegal narcotics. Ms. Lane informed deputies that there was cocaine in the vehicle, which was located under the front passenger seat where Mr. Ricardo was sitting.



Lane and Ricardo were both arrested and transported to the Holmes County Jail.  Lane was charged with driving under the influence and possession of cocaine. Ricardo was charged with possession of cocaine.
