On January 31, 2023, at 10:30 PM, the Enterprise Police Department responded to a stolen vehicle call in the 1100 block Rucker Blvd. Enterprise, AL.  EPD Patrol Officers located the stolen vehicle, a 2016 Ford Edge, within an hour of the initial report travelling on Dixie Drive. EPD Patrol Officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle and the suspect refused to stop.  After a brief vehicle pursuit, the suspect stopped the stolen vehicle and attempted to flee on foot.  EPD Officers apprehended the suspect without further incident.  EPD Officers also recovered the victim’s handguns which were located in the stolen vehicle.  The suspect, Dante Jamal Buchanan, age 18, of Enterprise, AL, was arrested and charged with Theft of Property 1st Degree, Theft of Property 2nd Degree,Driving Under the Influence, Minor in Consumption of Alcohol, and Attempting to Elude. Buchanan was transported to the Coffee County Jail after arrest.
