Escambia County, Florida: Early Saturday Morning on May 18, 2024, shortly after 1:00 AM, a Florida State Trooper noticed a gray Nissan 4 door sedan traveling northbound on US Highway 29 recklessly weaving in and out of traffic at a high rate of speed. Once the Trooper activated his emergency equipment to initiate a traffic stop the Nissan fled, continuing to travel northbound on US Highway 29. In an attempt to evade the Trooper, the driver travelled to Carrington Lakes Boulevard where she finally pulled into a parking space located at 8252 Carrington Lakes Boulevard. The driver was apprehended and placed under arrest. Once under arrest, the suspect driver was able to move her handcuffs to the front and became combative, attempting to resisted arrest. At this point the suspect driver began to fight with the Trooper on the ground, once up she charged towards The Trooper in an aggressive manner. Knowing the suspect driver was willing to fight plus knowing the cuffs could be used as a weapon, the Trooper was forced to deploy his Taser to gain compliance. Once a second Trooper arrived on scene and with the suspect driver being placed in the back of a patrol car, she became combative once again, at one point aggressively placing her hands around another Troopers neck attempting to choke them. Once the Troopers gained control, they were able to have the suspect driver cleared by EMS and transported her to the Escambia County Jail.

The suspect was charged with the following:

Felony battery on LEO

Felony fleeing and eluding

Felony resisting with violence

Misdemeanor DUI

Misdemeanor driving while license suspended

The driver was also cited for open container and unlawful speed.

Arrested:

34-year-old female, Sharvonta Nashia Alston and she was driving a 2020 Gray Nissan 4 door sedan
