Escambia County, Florida: On November 11th, around 12:10 PM, an FHP Trooper observed a gray Lincoln SUV traveling northbound on CR-453 (W Street) at a speed of 59 miles per hour in a 40 mile per hour speed zone, while also rapidly and recklessly changing lanes. The Trooper was able to overtake the Lincoln and activate his emergency lights and sirens of his marked FHP patrol car. The driver of the Lincoln accelerated and began to flee,  creating  a  pursuit  situation.  While  maintaining  radio  communications  with  the  Tallahassee  Regional Communication Center (TRCC), the Trooper was able to maintain the travel path of the Lincoln from CR-453 (W Street) to US-29 (Pensacola Blvd) and to SR-296 (Michigan Ave).  The fleeing vehicle returned to CR-453 (W Street) traveling south. As the vehicle attempted to make a left turn onto Nabors Place, the driver lost control and entered a vegetative area. This was where the Trooper was able to perform a PIT Maneuver to immobilize the fleeing vehicle, bringing the Lincoln to a stop. As the vehicle stopped, the driver fled out of the passenger door which led to the deployment of an FHP K-9, who was able to apprehend the suspect, allowing Troopers to take the suspect into custody safely. Medical treatment was provided to the suspect driver and he was transported to Baptist Hospital for his injuries.   An inventory of the vehicle yielded a measuring scale and open plastic bag testing positive for cocaine. Three other small baggies containing a white powdery substance was located on his persons which tested positive for cocaine.   The suspect driver was positively identified by his Florida Identification Card as Lebaron Deshun Britt, 35 year old male of Pensacola, Florida. Mr. Britt was changed with Flee and Eluding Law Enforcement, Driving While License Suspended, Resisting Arrest without Violence, and Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Distribute
