On Friday February 7, 2020, at approximately 12:17 PM, a Deputy with the Uniform Patrol Division conducted a traffic stop on a white pickup truck for a seat belt violation.
When the vehicle came to rest, the Deputy observed the female driver, exit the vehicle and enter the driver's side.
Contact was made with the occupants of the vehicle and the male, who the Deputy had initially observed driving, was now in the passenger's seat.
During the course of the Deputy's investigation the male was identified as Michael Ray Brady and it was learned that he had asked the female to allow him to sit in the passenger's seat.
A check of Brady's license status revealed that it was suspended and he was listed as a habitual traffic offender based on Florida Statute 322.264.
Brady was placed under arrest for the charge of Driving While License Suspended/Revoked – Habitual Offender.
The female occupant did not have a valid driver's license and a tow truck was requested for the vehicle.
An inventory of the contents of the vehicle was completed, during which time a used hypodermic needle and spoon with suspected methamphetamine residue was located among Brady's belongings.
Field tests of the residue yielded presumptive positive results for methamphetamine.
Brady was additionally charged with Possession of Narcotic Equipment, and transported to Jackson County Correctional Facility to await first appearance.
