Florida Man Charged with Aggravated Fleeing and Eluding

JACKSON COUNTY :On September 16, 2021, members of the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) Drug Task Force were in the area of Alford attempting to locate a known wanted subject.
While proactively patrolling the area, members spotted a suspicious vehicle and attempted a traffic stop. The vehicle immediately fled at a high rate of speed, traveling north towards Marianna.
JCSO pursued the vehicle north on Highway 231. While in pursuit, they observed the subject force multiple vehicles off of the roadway and the driver was observed throwing large quantities of suspected narcotics out of the window.
JCSO was able to successfully stop the car just south of Campbellton, Florida. The suspect was taken into custody without incident.
The suspect, later identified as James Black Jr. is being charged with Aggravated Fleeing and Eluding. Additional charges are pending depending on the outcome of the investigation.
