BONIFAY, FLORIDA: On November 8, investigators with the Holmes County Sheriff’s Office responded to a local business in reference to credit card fraud. Contact was made with the manager who informed investigators that Ra’Shawn Catoe of Jacksonville ordered an automotive engine using a credit card that belonged to someone else.
According to documentation retained by the business, Catoe ordered an engine for nearly $7,000 using a credit card bearing someone else’s name. The receipt for the purchase was sent to Catoe’s email address.
Investigators contacted the card owner who stated they did not authorize the purchase.
While investigators were at the business, Catoe arrived to pick up the engine. When confronted, he told investigators he was picking up the engine for a friend.
A female traveling with Catoe stated that the engine was for his vehicle because his old one had blown up.
Investigators then spoke with Catoe’s sister who claimed he did not make the purchase but that the engine was for his vehicle.
Catoe was arrested and transported to the Holmes County Jail and charged with fraudulent use of a credit card more than $100.00.
