Fully Involved Structure Fire on Eastwood Dr

Dothan - 8:20pm Dothan Communications dispatched Dothan Fire, Dothan Police and Pilchers to a structure fire at 906 Eastwood Dr. Dothan 911 reported to responding fire units that they received multiple calls advising fire was well involved. Engine 4, Sergeant Jamie Woodham who is acting captain and crew, arrived on scene to advise to find single story residence with heavy fire, well involved, making an offensive attack. Engine 5, Captain Tollett and company, arrived and their crew became Safety Officer and RIC, rapid intervention crew. Engine 1, Captain Knowles and crew, arrived and began assisting fire attack. As crews were attempting to make entry into the structure the safety officer advised that this needed to be a defensive fire due to the amount of fire in the attic space. Battalion Chief Shan Ash is commanding the scene. At 8:30pm fire attack crews advised they had water on the fire. Units worked from the exterior of the residence to gain control of the fire. Once the fire was knocked down Engine 4 began fire attack interior again while Engine 1 and Truck 1 crews worked to get an all clear on the residence. Deputy Chief Chris Etheredge was on scene as operations. Dothan Utilities was dispatched shortly after time of call. This is important for reasons such as what interior crews were facing tonight. Fire Attack crews advised there was live power line inside the residence. At 9:50pm crews called under control and secondary all clear at 9:14. One person was treated on scene by medics and transported to a local hospital emergency. The on call fire investigator was contacted to respond to the scene.
