Geneva County Ala 911 Dispatched City of Slocomb Fire-Resue to 137 S Rex Avebue in Slocomb to Structure Fire

SLOCOMB ALA: On 8/28/24 at approximately 11:35 a.m. Geneva County AL911 dispatched City of Slocomb Fire-Rescue, Fadette Fire Protection District, and Malvern Vol. Fire & Rescue to a structure fire at 137 S. Rex Avenue in Slocomb. Operations Chief Hovey arrived on scene to find a working residential structure fire. Engine 4 arrived on scene within 6 minutes of the 911 call. FF Flowers, FF Waters, and Capt. Gordon conducted an aggressive offensive interior attack which brought the fire under control quickly. Fadette Engine 7 arrived and secured a water source. Malvern Engine 5 was diverted to an outdoor fire on County Rd. 85. The fire, which started in a dryer, was confined to the laundry and utility room. Slocomb Police Department, Slocomb Alabama Chief Howerton and Slocomb Water Works & Sewer also responded and assisted.
