DALE COUNTY - OZARK - DOTHAN - HOUSTON COUNTY - ASHFORD - COLUMBIA -WEBB - GENEVA COUNTY- ARITON:
FOLKS.... your emergency 911 centers, Law Enforcement, Fire and EMS in all areas have been outstanding today in a wild world of events.
My day started before 5 AM and it is now 11:47 PM. Still out and going. My last meal or anything to eat was Sunday breakfast for lunch at Watermark Church. Nothing to eat since because been wild.
Started with stand off in Ariton. Dale County Sheriff Wally Olson exhibited extreme patience. That patience resulted in a parents child taken into custody without injury when he presented himself to law enforcement with a case that could have caused law enforcement to use deadly physical force.
The patience ended with all officers going home tonight and parents relieved their son is alive and getting treatment.
A firearm assault in Ozark. Patient is alive and suspect(s) in custody.
A tragedy on Highway 85 in Dale County. A husband lost his 43 year old wife and two children lost their mother in a automobile accident.
A family lost their home in Newton to fire.
Dothan has been busy. Several motor vehicle accidents, suicide attempts, strong armed robbery assault, two edged weapon assaults.
Houston County has had several calls. A burglary in progress in Webb turned out the be suspicious circumstances but one person had four arrest warrants with the City of Dothan.
Ashford Police Officer Larry Flowers and Houston County Sheriff Deputy Samantha Floyd saved lives tonight in stopping a vehicle traveling west on Highway 84 in the east bound lane of traffic.
ALEA - Troopers had a vehicle chase that resulted in a foot chase which resulted in a wanted fugitive apprehended. The fugitive, Leroy Bryant, was apprehended by ALEA - Troopers, Houston County Sheriff Deputies and Dothan Police after a foot chase.
Geneva County - Slocomb had some sort of incident but the details are not known. Nothing serious as in other areas.
All begins with the 911 Operator - WHERE IS YOUR EMERGENCY - is the first question. That is because if for some reason 911 loses contact with the caller at least they know where the person calling is located.
911 is the backbone to emergency services. And Emergency Services include Law Enforcement - Fire - EMS - EMA - Utilities. All are to work together in one accord.
Everyone served their community in what can be described as a wild and crazy day.
PRAYERS to the Enterprise Family who lost the love of their life today.
It is now 12:04 AM. I am sitting in my truck on Ross Clark Circle in the parking lot of Patricia Lanes. Hungry since not had time to eat today. But will wait until breakfast. If nothing happens headed home. GOODNIGHT.
