Gordon Mayor Refuses Ashford Rescue To Speak At The Work Session

GORDON:     ??‍???‍???. The Gordon Town Council met in a lengthy meeting tonight. And the second consecutive Gordon Mayor to be charged with criminal offenses in the 20th Judicial Circuit used the power of Mayor to prevent Ashford Rescue from speaking to the members of the Gordon City Council.

Ashford Rescue responded to a medical emergency in Gordon. When the Gordon Police were notified of the medical emergency some members of the Gordon Municipal Government responded to assist. 

Gordon Mayor Shana Wynette Ray, age 47,  which means old enough to know better, decided she needed to respond to the medical emergency. 

When Ashford Rescue arrived Gordon Mayor Shana Wynette Ray went to bad mouthing Ashford Rescue. The Mayor is alleged to have interfered with Ashford Rescue through verbal abuse towards the Ashford Rescue crew being critical of the services they provide.

Gordon Mayor Shana Wynette Ray sister works for another “for profit” ambulance service. The Mayor was critical of telling Ashford Rescue how much better her sister was and the EMS service she is employed by is so much better.

Tonight members of Ashford Rescue was at the Gordon work session and requested to address the Gordon Town Council. Mayor Shana Wynette Ray refused to allow Ashford Rescue to speak. Even though they had requested to address the Gordon Town Council Mayor Shana Wynette Ray refused them to address the Council.

Attorney Cliff Jarrett represents the Gordon City Council as the Attorney for Gordon and also serves as Municipal Judge for Gordon. Ashford Rescue members gave Jarrett the letters of what they intended to address the Town Council about. The attorney was handed enough letters for each member of the Gordon Town Council.

While it is UNCONFIRMED if copies of the letters were given to the members of the Gordon Town Council the Mayor was observed taking all of the letters into her possession. RSN does not have the phone numbers of the Council Members to verify if they received the copies of the letters Ashford Rescue left.

But Gordon Mayor Shana Wynette Ray, who is awaiting trial in Houston County District Court for Harassment and threats with a firearm against Gordon residents, does not want the members of Gordon City Council to know of her verbal assault of Ashford Rescue in the performance of their official duties.

So if you know the Gordon City Council Members and Gordon Police Chief make them aware of this article and the letters in the event Gordon Mayor Shana Wynette Ray did not give them their copy of the letters left for each and every single Gordon Town Council member. Ask the Mayor where is the copy of your letter if Mayor Ray did not provide you with your copy.

Gordon Mayor Shana Wynette Ray was a council member. When former Gordon Mayor Melton was convicted of a felony in Houston County Circuit Court Melton was immediately stripped of his elected position. That conviction thrust Councilwoman Shana Wynette Ray into the position of Mayor.

Since becoming Mayor and becoming a leader that could do great things Gordon Mayor Shana Wynette Ray went the opposite direction. She has become a legend only in her own mind when in reality she has become a threat to the safety and security of the citizens of Gordon. She has interfered with Emergency Medical Providers in the performance of their duties to save lives.

Gordon Mayor Shana Wynette Ray is alleged to have threatended several Gordon residents and others if they are critical of her actions they will face her power abuse.

Hopefully Houston County Sheriff Major Bill Rafferty will conduct an investigation into Gordon Mayor Shana Wynette Ray’s actions towards Ashfofd Rescue and bring felony criminal charges against the Mayor. Because the next medical emergency Mayor Ray attempts to interfere with the medical treatment could be one of the Sheriff Deputies under Major Rafferty’s command. 

Major Rafferty is only mentioned because he was the primary investigator against former Gordon Mayor Melton. Those charges led a 12 person jury in Houston County Circuit Court to return a verdict of GUILTY on Melton which resulted in his removal as Mayor.

The sad part of the current criminal charges against Mayor Ray are midemeanor charges. So a conviction will not remove her from the position as Mayor.

AGAIN...if you know the members of the Gordon Town Council and Gordon Police Chief, tell them there were letters left with Attorney Jarrett for them. And while we are unable to actually confirm with the Council Members if they received the letter we are 100% positive Mayor Ray blocked Ashford Rescue from speaking and 100% positive sure that Mayor Ray was attempting to gather all copies of the letters.

Gordon Town Council will meet in a regular scheduled meeting on Tuesday at 5 PM. When you speak with members of the Gordon Town Council and Gordon Police Chief tell them they need to ask the Mayor about the incident at Tuesday’s meeting.

When medical calls are dispatched Houston County Sheriff Deputies need to also respond. Because if Gordon Mayor Shana Wynette Ray attempts to interfere in the emergency medical services providing medical care again, Houston County Sheriff Donald Valenza leaves the light on at 901 East Main Street for such people like Shana Wynette Ray. In fact Sheriff Valenza has a carport that Ray would not even get wet when exiting the Black SUV ride provided for her and each Deputy are provided matching bracelets for Mayor Ray’s wrists.

Sorry to the men and women who serve on the Gordon Town Council and the Gordon Police Chief. I realize the actions of Mayor Ray place the good council members in a bad position. Also to the citizens of Gordon, you attempted to elect good people but you inherited Shana Wynette Ray as a Mayor.

Mayor Raye has also had maintenance workers to work at her home but claimed it was off the clock, others say they were on the clock. She stands over the clerk until she can't get anything done plus she gets the mail and doesn't give half of it to the clerk. The town is left unprotected because of the Mayor. There's more goings on than meets the eye. Gordon citizens need to figure out what they want to do, get her out, go with the county, or get someone else in there that won't be giving your town a bad name? Just asking you to think about it.
