HOLMES COUNTY, FLORIDA: On November 9, deputies with the Holmes County Sheriff’s Office initiated a traffic stop on an ATV after seeing it running a stop sign at the intersection of Highway 173 and Highway 2.
The driver, later identified as Stacey Yeomans of Graceville, refused to stop even after deputies activated emergency lights; he continued to travel on Highway 173 to Franklin Road on to JW Stephens Road and finally to Cullbreath Road, where he abandoned the ATV in a field and fled on foot.
Deputies located Yeomans hiding near a residence on Cullbreath Road and took him into custody.
During the pursuit, deputies saw him throw a bag that was later recovered; a search of the bag revealed a firearm that had been reported stolen out of Geneva County, Alabama. Yeomans is a convicted felon.
Yeomans was arrested and transported to the Holmes County Jail and faces a charge of fleeing and attempting to elude law enforcement and one charge of felon in possession of a firearm.
